On-board payment of a journey

Marcel offers certain business customers (hotels, etc.) the option of paying for their journeys on board your vehicle.

To process on-board payments, you have three options:

Option 1: the customer wants to pay in cash > click the “Direct Payment” button at the start of the journey in your Driver application. Then collect the total amount of the journey in cash; Marcel will deduct its commission on your next report.

Option 2: the customer wants to pay by card and you are equipped with an EFTPOS machine > click the “Direct Payment” button at the start of the journey in your Driver application. Then collect the total amount of the journey via your EFTPOS machine; Marcel will deduct its commission on your next report.

Option 3: the customer wants to pay by card and you are not equipped with an EFTPOS machine > click the “Payment link” button at the start of the journey in your Driver application. You will then obtain a link that you can send to your customer* who then simply has to follow the steps indicated. Check the payment confirmation on your phone before they step out. In this case, Marcel will collect the payment as is done for a normal journey.

*You can send the payment link directly to the customer’s phone (text the link to this number) or open the payment link on your own phone (open on my phone).
